The WP Community Collective presents the GoDaddy WC Fellowship, a program to empower underrepresented voices within the WordPress community.
The WP Community Collective and GoDaddy share the belief that welcoming, valuing, and empowering underrepresented contributors is essential for the continued growth and success of the WordPress open-source project.
Through the GoDaddy WC Fellowship, our goal is enable opportunities for underrepresented contributors in the WordPress ecosystem to strengthen their connection with the WordPress community.
About the GoDaddy WC Fellowship
Fellowship Benefits
- Stipend: Each Fellow will receive a stipend up to US$1,500 to speak at and attend a regional or flagship WordPress WordCamp.
- Community: Fellows will meet other WordPress professionals, build relationships, and expand their personal and professional networks.
- Promotion: We’ll promote Fellows within the WordPress community, offering increased visibility and recognition for their contributions.
Fellowship Responsibilities
- Officially present at the designated regional or flagship WordCamp
- Participate in Contributor Day
- Participate in a 30 min. meet-and-great featurette at the GoDaddy sponsor booth
- Attend official and private offsite events
- Blog about it on the WPCC website
Fellowship Requirements
- Speak at a regional or flagship WordCamp
- Attend the full conference and contributor day(s)
- Reside in the continent of the WordCamp being attended
Additional Criteria
- Fellows may not have received support from the WC Fellowship program, the WPCC, or GoDaddy previously.
- Fellows may not be a recipient of other funding for the event.
- Application must be received by submission deadline date.
How to Apply
We welcome applications from contributors who identify publicly as underrepresented in the WordPress community. This includes people who identify as black, indigenous or a person of color, women, LGBTQIA+, a person with a disability, as well as contributors from underrepresented geographic regions.
Applicants will be requested to link to a listing in via any public professional directory, such as LinkedIn or the WordPress-centric Underrepresented in Tech.

Fellowship Selection
Fellows will be selected in a blind review process by a selection committee. The selection committee members will include a representative from the WPCC admin team, a representative from GoDaddy, and at least three others from the WPCC community (all members will be named after the selection period is ended).
We aim to select up to three Fellows for each WordCamp we are able to participate in.
