The WP Community Collective (WPCC) is excited to announce the launch of a new program to encourage diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) within the WordPress community.
Incentivizing DEIB in WP provides financial compensation to individuals actively working to inform and educate the WordPress community about DEIB, including panelists, moderators, speakers, and organizers.
“We want to enable people to take on the work of helping our community to understand DEIB,” said Sé Reed, co-founder and president of the WPCC.
“Teaching people takes work, and teaching people about DEIB is no exception.”

The first phase of this program is fully funded by individual donations to the WPCC. The WPCC is currently working to find a new fiscal host that will enable the community to help fund additional phases.
Incentivizing DEIB in WP is the third program to be launched by the WPCC. The first program, the WPCC Accessibility Fellowship, completed its first cohort in June 2024. The WPCC’s second program, the GoDaddy WC Fellowship, launched in May 2024 and is currently underway.
